issue switching from fdroid to play store versions

As per title, I've had the fdroid version installed on various phones over the years, and till recently it worked, however now it barely recognises any tracks in my library, even for lyrics that previous installations of the same version located fine.

I uninstalled the fdroid version, and went to the play store, which seemed to think i had joined the beta program??.

At this point I have found that attempting to install the play store version always fails with a "can't install" error.

When reinstalling the fdroid version, it seemingly found a left over from the previous install, as it already had the previously downloaded lyrics in the saved section.

This makes me wonder if a remnant of the fdroid install is interfering with the play stores attempts to install it
