Display bounding box on dicom using dicomSR [FEA]

We would like to display a bounding box along with some text on a dicom image without altering the dicom image data. Something like this.

Describe the solution you'd like
An ideal solution will be to use dicom SR to record the co-ordinates of the bounding box and associated text. We would then be able to display the SR image along with the original dicom image.

Describe alternatives you've considered
We have used highdicom to create the SR image. But a more general operator would be nice.
