Water-related data: tides, temp, pollution-related, fishing depths #160
Comments
I believe there are existing models that have water-related data already so it should be possible to integrate them into the API. I'll ping @alexander0042 to see if adding those models to the API is something that is in-scope. |
Thanks for using Pirate Weather, and welcome to the GitHub page! I really love this idea, and appreciate you taking the time to post it. Water data is near and dear to my heart (it's both my day job and the subject of my Ph.D. thesis https://coastlines.engineering.queensu.ca/dunexrt, so it doesn't take much to convince me to add these in. I've tagged this one as keep so it stays on the docket- probably looking at a mid summer timeline, but adding in waves and water levels for offshore locations (from the GFS model) would be very doable |
Describe the feature
I don't see any api support or discussion for water-related weather/conditions. Is this something that would be considered in-scope for this project's goals? There are a many government data sources about this for various stations in the Chesapeake Bay, for example.
Thanks!
