The current system only supports filesystem storage - which is not great if you run elemental within a docker container as the files are stored within the container instance at the path /var/elemental/service.kernel/.sources/blobs - you can mount this as a volume to persist the files.
It is planned to add support for S3 compatible and azure blob storage backends.
