Our website should have a page for our talks! And that page should have videos of our talks!

they're already on our youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCI8MIw5A7ALtIvNHsrYJbjg

@boneskull also mentioned a great idea: streaming our talks live! this should be doable with twitch or youtube, we just need to work out how to do that with our videographer Kyle.

Just invited @KAndersonUS (our videographer) as an org member so he can weigh in on this convo! 🎉

Super excited about this. Have a fun idea about what this could look like for pdxnode.org re: live stream, but yes–we should definitely make a talks page with our vids! 😎

@ungoldman @boneskull in short, my thought is that we could conditionally render our homepage based on if it's the day of our presentation night or not (second Thursdays), and if it is we could have a 'PDXNode Live' version render with our live stream front and center so people can just go to our site to watch it. (Maybe a – 🚨 We're On Air! 🚨 – sort of thing 😎)

Should most definitely make this into a separate issue if y'all think this may be a good idea. This definitely seems a bit further down the road than where we are–but good to document now.

Sorry for seeing this thread so late! :(
I've entertained the idea of live streaming, but it's not entirely possible unless we had access to better video equipment. The most we could do is connect the video out of my camera to a computer, but I like to keep the camera on the presenter and capture the presentations/demos separately, combined later in post.

At most, if we wanted to do some kind of streaming push, we could take the edited videos and stream them "live" before publishing them. Make it a pseudo-live event on the nights there are no presentations.
