Contributing to TriFusion

Thank you for your interest in contributing to TriFusion 🎉!

TriFusion is an open source cross-platform desktop application that aims make the gathering, processing and visualization of phylogenomic data accessible to everyone, regardless of experience in bioinformatics. In other words, it was designed to make the life of anyone dealing with any amount of proteome or alignment sequence data easier and more pleasurable.

We welcome contributions at all levels of experience, whether they are in terms of code or via bug reports and feature requests.

This documents is a set of guidelines for contributing to TriFusion on GitHub. These are guidelines, not rules. This guide is meant to make it easy for you to get involved.

Participation guidelines

This project adheres to a code of conduct. By participating, you are expected to uphold this code. Please report unacceptable behavior to [email protected].

What we're working on

Take a look at the GitHub [issue tracker] and the [project board].

  • Backlog: All the issues we have opened.
  • Next: The next task that will be tackled in the project.
  • In progress: What we are currently working on.
  • Icebox: Will they ever leave?

How to submit changes

Once you've identified one of the issues above that you feel you can contribute to, you're ready to make a change to the project repository!

  1. Fork this repository. This makes your own version of this project you can edit and use.
  2. Make your changes! You can do this in the GitHub interface on your own local machine. Once you're happy with your changes...
  3. Submit a pull request. This opens a discussion around your project and lets the project lead know you are proposing changes.
