It is important to emphasize within the requirements, in addition to the user license, that AIP is user-based and not device-based. Or if the machine from which desktop applications are used is configured device-based, it is expected that AIP will not work.

Can you expand on what you mean by device-based? The user account logging in to the application must be licensed, or you must use a service principal.
