I've done this process about 3 times now and each time it does work, I get Dolby Digital Live but then it just disappears from the default format options. The driver version doesn't change and there is 0 indication of what is happening. Realtek HD Audio manager doesn't allow me to select DDL either. Am I doing something wrong? I can't find anywhere else someone is facing the same problem I am.

It seems to be a problem with the Windows Update audio driver update. You would have to find a way to disable Windows Update driver updates.

I've tried a couple methods that prevent windows from updating the driver but it does it anyway. I only have Windows 11 home so I don't have GroupPolicy Editor but for all I know a GP edit method wouldn't work either

You can try this program and locate the Exclude driver from updates section
