Problem Description

When I open Handbrake and select a file to open it opens normally. When I now try to change the output directory, I select the new one and then it just stays at the normal directory.

To note, could it have something to do with me messing up the permissions in the bin/sudo directory? I could already fix the sudo directory but didn’t try the bin directory.

Sounds similar to #5003. Are you using the File > Set Destination… option, or clicking the To: button in the bottom right corner?

I did find an issue where using Set Destination doesn't change the directory if it has already been changed using the To: button.

It doesn’t change, no matter which option I use.

I tested on Ubuntu 23.10 but couldn't find any problems with the folder button. I would need more information on your setup to investigate further. Alternatively, could you try the latest development build from https://github.com/HandBrake/HandBrake-snapshots to see if the problem occurs there?

ok, one thing that works is, dragging a folder into the save directory field.
