Better Copy/Paste Support #1463
-
I've noticed that when copy/pasting large amounts of text it tends to make publii crash. I would like to see better support because this gets really frustrating when working with large amounts of text. |

At first, I honestly thought things were crashing due to it maxing out the ram, when I first started I had 12GB I don't understand why this would be happening, especially for a bit of software that is boasting it's compatibility to create CMS websites, when it can't handle a large amount of the "C" (Content). I hope this gets fixed. Perhaps I am pushing the likes of publii past it's limits, perhaps publii does have more restrictions than we are aware of. |

Just for feedback. I'm not sure what to suggest as I've not experienced this problem yet. Just a wild guess: are you using Publii under Microsoft Windows? If that's a yes, the reason I ask is if at the same time as you're using Publii, you have several other programs also running in the background, perhaps it's possible that your PC might be struggling a bit. If that's the case, try shutting down all unnecessary programs while you're doing lots of copy and pasting. As a wild guess, maybe the core problem is more to do with the limits of the Clipboard (temporary memory area) of the device + operating system that you're using rather than Publii itself. In the past, when I used PCs more, I too had similar problems with a well known graphics suite. It turned out that to resolve my problem then, I needed more RAM plus a stronger / faster device -- which was a bit frustrating at the time. Hope this helps. |

It has nothing to do with my computer, but thanks for the suggestion.
I've copied/pasted lots of text into many other programs with zero problems.
I've since ditched Publii and gone on to something else that actually works.
