I do have more ideas of how to make it more practical so that anyone can have a small set of tools to recognize and fight system biases. Unfortunately I'm way too busy atm so it'll take some time before I'll update this thread. Happy new year everyone! |

This is a continuation of the previous discussion (sorry for the late reply). First of all I’d like to thank @emmairwin and @schneems for their comments. They helped me realize that my approach wasn’t quite right. My goal was to find a way to end all forms of discrimination by targeting fundamental reasons of why discrimination occurs in the first place. What I ended up with was just an expanded list of vague protected characteristics. I propose an alternative solution here. The following paragraph can be added to the “Our Pledge” section:
I know it’s still generalized, so if anyone can help me here and suggest how to make it more specific and practical that would be great. But I think it’s long overdue to recognize that systemic biases exist and how one group is dominating the entire community.
