SSL UF1 controller

I use the SSL UF1 to control Logic Pro - I would love to be able to use the transport controls for After Effects and Final Cut

Can the SSL UF1 just send generic MIDI messages?

It is a Midi controller so I would think so :

If I go into Control Surfaces and select MIDI, I can choose Final Cut Pro as the app and the set the Action to Play, click Learn and press the play button on the UF1 controller and it recognises MIDI Note on 94. But then I do not know how to use this.

opened Comandpost extension in FinalCut - connection made and controller now working. Just have to set up all other buttons now.
Cannot get the jog/shuttle wheel to work - if I select Scrub Timeline in only moves one frame forward or back
