set you could set this up so that different voices are trigger based on different 'sandwiched characters' (if you're familiar with python reg.ex -- reg.ex code)

Bob is triggered in normal text
Sarah is trigger when {text is like this}
Valentino is triggered when [text is like this]
Darron is triggered when text is like this (the asterisks may italicize my text, but those were asterisks)
Alice is triggered when (text is like this)
Haley is triggered when (now i'm getting real creative) "Text is like this."
